I am experimenting with the oil pulling & hope to improve my gum health, but just wanted to say that brushing with baking soda is really bad for your teeth. It is like using really heavy grit sandpaper & will slowly thin/remove the outer protective enamel layer of your teeth. Maybe using for a week or so to whiten before a special occasion won't hurt, but daily use for years will ultimately cause your teeth to become irreversibly yellow from the yellow dentin showing through. The baking soda tooth paste products from Arm & hammer use a specially formulated smaller gentle particle that will not cause the trauma but you will still get the alkalination effect.
