Announcing The Sugar Smackdown™ Super-Charged Six Week Summer SlimdownTele-class.
The Sugar Smackdown is more than a 21 day junk-food detox. It’s a way to re-boot your body, learn about energizing food and fat-flushing fitness and jumpstart a brand new you.
This summer, while everyone else is packing on the pounds and eating crap at bbq’s that drain their energy, YOU are going to hit the re-fresh button on your body.
Here’s EXACTLY what we’re going to cover when you join me for the next Sugar Smackdown live group tele-class.
Module One: The Sugar Smackdown Revealed
Here’s a sampling of what you will learn in The Sugar Smackdown™ Module One:
Detox Do’s and Don’ts…
- What you absolutely must do BEFORE you begin the Sugar Smackdown.
- What can I eat? What can’t I eat?
- What counts as “bad sugar?”
- What counts as “good sugar?”
- What are good fats? What are bad fats?
- How many meals a day should I eat?
- What to do if headaches, bodyaches and cravings surface.
- Plus Detox tips and relaxation rituals
Module Two: The Low Fat Fallacy
- Is saturated fat your friend or foe?
- Does fat make you fat?
- Should I avoid foods like butter, eggs and cream?
- Does eating a high fat, high protein diet cause heart disease and increase “bad” cholesterol?
FACT: Americans are fatter and sicker than ever.
And as a nation we are told to eliminate fat, especially saturated fat, and eat a low fat diet for our health and to control weight. This dietary dogma is deeply ingrained in our belief system. Luckily there is a growing number of health care providers, physicians and nutrition experts who are taking a stand against the diet dictocrats and taking a stand for fat and traditional food.
Dr. Cate Shanahan will share her wisdom in Module Two. She’ll help us understand the important role of fat and traditional foods to creating health and vitality. Together we’ll debunk the saturated fat myth and put your mind at ease so you can enjoy those scrambled eggs and other demonized traditional foods.
Dr. Cate is a a board certified family physician. She is trained in biochemistry and genetics from Cornell University before attending Robert Woods Johnson Medical School.
She practiced in Hawaii for ten years where she studied ethnobotany and the eating habits of her healthiest patients. She developed T.R.I.M (Treatment to Reverse Inflammatory Metabolism) which uses food as a primary healing therapy to promote medication independence for diabetics and many other weight-associated diseases.
Module Three: Banish Belly Bloat. Get Good Digestion. Get Healthy.
You are what you eat…as the saying goes. But in reality… you are what you digest. If you are chronically dealing with a bloated, upset tummy, gas, irregularity, indigestion, heartburn, acne and headaches it’s time to go “underground” and look at your gut function.
There’s a direct relationship between how you look, feel and thrive and the health of your digestive system.
It’s in your digestive system where your food is assimilated and transformed into the energy you need to thrive. In this important module we’ll answer questions like…..
- what is the digestive system?
- what are some symptoms of digestive dysfunction?
- how does stress effect your gut health?
- what is leaky gut?
Guest teacher Sean Croxton from UndergroundWellness.com brings his passionate energy to the subject of good gut health. Sean is a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology. He’s a popular health and fitness blogger, radio show host and web T.V show host.
In addition, he is certified as a Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist and takes a holistic, functional approach to helping his clients rebuild their health from the ground up.
Module Four: Weight-Loss and Health Psychology
Do you ever wonder why willpower never works? Or why despite wanting to change so badly, you seem to sabotage your efforts to get healthy and lose weight?
Joseph Pilates famously said, “It is the mind that shapes the body.”
In order to achieve your desired health and body goal, you must have a belief system that supports that goal. When I work with clients one-on-one many of them can’t “see” themselves as a thinner, healthier, happier person. Why? Because they never “saw” an example of that during their crucial younger years of mental development.
We are a product of our upbringing, environment and conditioning.
Good news is, you can update your mental programming to be self-supporting and in line with your consciously held desire.
Special guest teacher Rita Soman will support us in understanding the power of the subconscious mind and its role in achieving optimal health and peak performance.
Rita has been a practicing Psychotherapist for 23 years based out of Portland Oregon. Her speciality is working with individuals and families directly or indirectly affected by the use of alcohol, drugs or other addictive behaviors. In addition, she is a PSYCH-K facilitator and master PSYCH-K instructor.
PSYCH-K is a simple and non-invasive process to transform limiting beliefs into self-supporting ones in just minutes. Rita is passionate about sharing this life-changing process with those who are ready to turbo-charge their results. Read more about Rita at BeliefMantra.com
Module Five – Hidden Hormonal Roadblocks
Hormones carry vital messages from your organs to cells and act like a catalyst for specific cellular function. Hormones help you…
- fall asleep & wake up
- gain weight or lose weight
- handle stress
- feel sexy
- think straight
- make babies
- build muscle
- feel hungry or feel full
- metabolize food
- escape danger and more
Chronic stress can disrupt the balance of your hormones and cause you to gain weight and more. In this module we will discuss some of the common endocrine disruptors that prevent proper hormone function and “block” the hormone pathway.
Naturopathic Physician, Dr. Lauren Noel will provide support for this important and often confusing topic. Dr. Noel uses a blend of eastern and western medicine, nutritional therapy, detoxification, homeopathy, and conventional treatments when necessary in her private practice. She has advanced training in bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, cardiology, heavy metal detoxification, and intravenous nutritional therapy. Dr. Lauren Noel was awarded her Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from Biola University in La Mirada, California. She also developed a passion for nutrition and began pursuing a career that viewed “food as medicine.” To convert this passion to a career, Dr. Noel completed a four year graduate medical degree at the famed National College of Natural Medicine (NCNM) in Portland, Oregon. During her clinical years at NCNM, Dr. Noel interned at Outside In, a clinic that focuses on the health of at-risk youth and homeless teens.
Does this sound familiar? Someone across from you at the gym is acting like a total lunatic on the treadmill or elliptical?
Hair flapping around, teeth grinding, eyes squinting, grunting – huffing and puffing! This lasts at warp speed for about 45-60 minutes or until they’re ready to pass out. Most people believe longer, harder, steady state cardio is the best way to get a rockin’ hot body and lose weight. While cardio has its purpose, getting all cracked-out on it is counter productive and you could end up gaining weight and suffering in the long run. (pun intended.)
Most people are shocked when I tell them to do LESS cardio not more. You’re going to LOVE this module if you’ve been busting your butt at the gym, clocking long, boring hours on the treadmill and frankly…. hate it! There is a better way. I promise!
In this module you will discover:
- The best fitness for fat loss
- How to burn fat up to 48 hours after you workout
Guest teacher Evelyn Lambrecht and I will shed some light on what exercise is best for fat loss, how long you should work out, how often and the importance of rest days. Evelyne holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Kinesiology. She’s also a certified personal trainer from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and Health Coach trained in Holistic Nutrition and Lifestyle Coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. She uses a holistic approach to health and wellness, asking, does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising?
