Erin’s Bio

A rebel with a cause, Erin Huggins’ cutting-edge combination of mind and body conditioning is what keeps her enthusiasts coming back for more, whether they be LA-hipsters and celebrities, high-powered entertainment industry executives, or fashion industry darlings such as Rozae Nichols. Arms adorned with tattoos, this petite punk-turned-health & wellness-pro has a secret for success — her synergy of mental and physical training.

A few stints promoting bands for the Blue Note, bartending at the world famous Troubadour and working for one very infamous, misbehaving punk princess (Courtney Love), Erin had an epiphany. It was time for her to ignite her own inner rock star! She set out on her journey of self-discovery and reconnecting with the positive influences of her past. Studying and getting certified in several health and fitness modalities has allowed Erin to stay healthy while teaching others how to live their best life.

Continually evolving her capabilities and fusing specialties — her Pilates classes are peppered with ballet, yoga and martial arts moves — Erin’s synchronicity of substance and style is what makes her a true maverick with a results-driven program that is easily sustained by busy movers-and-shakers. Always asking “what shapes you,” Erin maintains a down-to-earth customized approach that inspires people who might otherwise feel that being healthy doesn’t fit into their world view. Her philosophy centers on the powerful notions that the mind shapes the body and that diet and exercise can be fun — and easy to maintain with the right formula.

As a kid, Erin studied dance and gymnastics, and later applied that background to springboard diving. While studying psychology at the University of Missouri, Erin continued to explore and develop her passion for health and fitness. However, Erin became frustrated with the typical University educational experience. The stadium sized class rooms were not conducive to her kinesthetic learning style so a decision to put things “on hold” proved to be a blessing in disguise. After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, she found her perfect fit while attended the Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing. Erin studied Polarity, Neuromuscular Re-Education and Reflexology leading to a certification in Manual Therapies.

Erin was initially introduced to Pilates at the age of 19. In 2002, she became certified through Body Arts and Science International. In 2005, this determined lover of life, opened SynerG Studio, a wellness enclave offering private Pilates and personal training sessions, group classes, massage therapy, dance fitness classes, nutritional consultation, guided meditation and healthy lifestyle management. Its focus created a much-needed alternative to the sometimes serious and intimidating Pilates experience.

In addition to her certification in pilates, Erin is a certified personal trainer, Functional Diagnostic Nutritionist, Metabolic Typing advisor, guided meditation practitioner and PSYCH-K facilitator. Her unique fusion of “mind-body motivation” allows each client to create a winning mindset. By shifting your awesome mental power, this daredevil proves that maintaining your perfect body and healthy lifestyle is really quite simple.

Erin has created two powerful weight-loss and lifestyle programs – Operation Shape Shift focuses on the overlooked and incredibly important mental aspect of weight reduction, while Operation Fat Flush provides the ultimate food and fitness formula to flush fat and keep it OFF!

In 2008 Erin closed her studio to focus on spreading her message and sharing her products to a global audience via the web. In less than a year online, she has gained up to 1000 unique readers a day to her blog. And her youtube videos have nearly a quarter of a million views. Erin now receives hundreds of emails daily from followers asking questions about health and fitness.

Erin has been featured in Shape Magazine, Pilates Style, The Los Angeles Times, KNBC, USA Network’s Character Road Trip, Splash LA and Chill Out LA. She has written for Topanga Times, and contributed to several health and wellness blogs.

What’s next on the agenda for this “it girl?” A kick-butt catalog of downloadable pilates and fitness videos. Stay tuned..
